Niraj Kumar

Niraj Kumar is a Senior Principal Scientist at CSIR-Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute, Pilani, India. He currently leads a research team dedicated to the development of novel sheet electron beam-driven high-power THz sources, with a focus on advancing industrial and strategic applications.

He is leading national and international collaborative projects on High Power THz technology, with a combined value exceeding 100 million INR, focused on advancing the field of vacuum electron devices. Based on his contributions to the field of vacuum electron devices, he has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Indian National Academy of Engineers-Young Engineer Award, Raman Research Fellowship & Young Scientist Award from Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, and the Buti Young Scientist Award.

He has also been granted 6 patents and has published over 50 research articles in IEEE and other SCI-indexed journals and conferences.

He is currently also serving as Young Associate of Indian National Academy of Engineers, Fellow of The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, Fellow of Vacuum Electronic Devices and Applications societies and an Editorial Board Member of Journal of Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves.
